Your Liver & Its Health

Located in the upper right-hand portion of the abdominal cavity, beneath the diaphragm, on top of the stomach, right kidney and intestines is the humble liver.

As the second largest organ in the body, the liver’s primary function is to filter blood, removing toxins and processing nutrients from digested food, while also producing the all-important bile that helps break down fats during digestion. The liver also plays a crucial role in regulating blood sugar levels, storing vitamins, and producing proteins essential for blood clotting.

Considering the many functions of the liver, it would seem logical for this critical organ to garner a lot of attention. Instead, the liver is one of the least understudied organs when put alongside other more prominent organs like our skin, lungs, brains, etc.

Being the unsung heroes that they are, prolonged abuse – according to Anthony William in his book “Liver Rescue” – may lead to problems like:

  • Sluggish Liver
  • Dirty Blood Syndrome
  • Fatty Liver
  • Weight Gain
  • Mystery Hunger
  • Aging
  • Diabetes & Blood Sugar Imbalances
  • Mystery High Blood Pressure
  • Mystery High Cholesterol
  • Mystery Heart Palpitations
  • Adrenal Problems
  • Chemical & Food Sensitivities
  • Methylation Problems
  • Eczema & Psoriasis
  • Acne
  • Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO)
  • Bloating, Constipation, and Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
  • Brain Fog
  • Mood Struggles and Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD)
  • PANDAS, Jaundice, and Baby Liver
  • Autoimmune and Hepatitis
  • Cirrhosis and Liver Scar Tissue
  • Liver Cancer
  • Gallbladder Sickness

Considering that the liver performs over 500 (yes, no kidding!) critical functions in your body, anyone battling chronic or mystery health issues better sit up and pay more attention to their liver health.

Key contributors to Liver Issues

Many chronic health problems can be traced back in part to a compromised liver. If someone has chronic illness and symptoms, it may make sense to work on healing the liver. Understanding the role of our livers in the overall scheme of our health is the first step towards recognizing and taking charge of keeping our livers healthy. To do that, we have to first understand the key contributors that affect liver health.

Dealing with liver issues can be tricky, and taking care of our liver can go a long way towards helping our bodies lower the risk of developing many chronic illnesses like SIBO, IBS, mystery high blood pressure and cholesterol just to name a few.
