Emma asks: I’m interested to try out the Medical Medium protocol. However, I am new to this and have just found out I am pregnant. Can I still do the cleanses? What should I look out for?
Kate answers: Pregnancy is a sacred period for your little one to grow, and a time when he/she can also taste what you are having and have likes and dislikes towards it. My advice would be to be gentle and go with the flow. Starting simply with healing foods – teas (such as nettle, lemon balm and if feeling nauseous peppermint tea are beneficial and also aids with digestion of foods), various types of fruits and vegetables. Do what is comforting for your body as you may not only be dealing with morning sickness, but also seeing some underlying health issues that may get triggered during pregnancy.
As part of your daily routine, you may start on the cleanses by first incorporating some lemon water in the morning and drinking an amount that feels comfortable for you, if you are up to it. The same can be said for celery juice, heavy metal detox smoothie, or any other juices and teas. They are gentle enough to start with, so long as you aren’t put off by them. However as each person is different, do listen to your body. If it feels too cleansing, you can try 16 oz of straight cucumber juice instead.
When it comes to supplements, swishing them in the mouth or holding for 30secs and spitting out is ideal for a growing foetus in womb especially if you are unsure and have not yet started out on supplements. If you are thinking of a gentle prenatal – Vimergy’s Spirulina and Barley Grass Juice Powder are great for both mother and baby.
Breastfeeding is an excellent form of nutrition for a newborn and if you are considering that, preparing for breast milk production during pregnancy can be done through consuming potatoes, avocados, lots of high glucose fruits.
Pregnancy is indeed a time to nurture, grow, and prepare for your little one’s arrival. Take it slowly and be compassionate and gentle with yourself.
